Indigenous Weather Knowledge

About this Project, Network or Partner
The Bureau of Meteorology's Indigenous Weather Knowledge site was launched in 2002 as a joint partnership between the Bureau, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission (ATSIC) and Monash University's Centre for Indigenous Studies. Providing seasonal calendars for regions in Australia, the site is a formal recognition of traditional weather and climate knowledge that has been developed and passed down through countless generations by Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
