Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum - multi-species desert plant phenology data, 1983-2012

Abstract:
The database includes observations on over 500 species of plants growing at the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum outside Tucson, Arizona. The plant species represent a broad range of orders and families that grow in arid lands of the Americas and thus represent non-native and native Sonoran desert species. The goal of the website is to provide phenological data for people to address a range of general questions, especially the flowering of desert plants. The database provides visualization tools to view phenological trends of species over time, compare species phenologies over time, and examine phenological trends relative to temperature and precipitation data. The graphs distinguish between plants that are watered at the museum and those that aren't. Although raw data can not be downloaded, species comparison graphs can be downloaded as PNG or JPEG images.
